Today, millions of people around the world use the Internet on a daily basis. This is due to a wide variety of useful information available in many websites and the convenience it offers to web users. However, it also resulted in many Internet users being victimized by different online scams. These internet scams have enormously emerged and has already alarmed the authorities.

The objective of these scams is to steal money and property. It even caused death to unsuspecting victims. Based on reports from authorities, there are millions of dollars of lost money due to these crimes, and because of this, many police agencies have organized special units to combat these kinds of crime.

Scammers use different schemes and strategies in order to do their criminal acts. Here are some of the many kinds of Internet scams spreading online.

Phishing Scams

E-mail is one of the most used features of the Internet that provides users a convenient means of communication. However, e-mails have become a great way for scammers to easily lure money or personal information from innocent individuals.

Phishing is one of the scams which use e-mails as a way to fool people. These e-mail scams usually consist of letters pretending that they are from a bank or an online financial group, providing a link and convinces you to visit that certain website and requests you to fill up a form that is aimed to collect sensitive personal information such as bank accounts, credit card information, passwords and many other information.

These sites are “bogus”, in the sense that it looks like a legitimate company since it resembles the looks of some of the known legitimate companies offering the same services posted by the scammers. In reality, e-mails from these sites are merely to tempt their prospect victims to provide their personal data and once they succeed, they will use the submitted information to steal money from the victim’s bank accounts or purchase items through the credit card provided by the victim.

Phishing was first known during the 1990’s when an attacker has attempted to steal AOL accounts by sending numerous messages to Internet users. The messages are intended to lure users to verify their accounts and ask their victims to input the password for the account. Afterwords, the victim’s accounts will then be used to do different scamming schemes and even distribute numerous spam mails.

Lottery Scams

Lottery scams are e-mails containing messages informing you that you have won millions of dollars from an international lottery. The message usually informs you that your e-mail address was included among the winners through a draw. In order to convince the prospect victims, they would attach links of real lottery sites or even attach fake documents or ads which claim that the lottery was endorsed by popular companies like Microsoft.

If the scammers were able to convince its victims, they would then ask important information and then request the victim to send some money to cover up taxes, processing fees, and other similar charges in order to get the prize when in reality there is no such prize and everything is bogus.

419 or Nigerian Scams

The 419 scam or popularly known as the Nigerian scam is one of the most widespread and very popular among other Internet scams. This also uses e-mails in attempting to steal people’s money. The e-mail basically contains different versions of stories such as an alleged political leader having been ousted from power and having millions of funds which he needs to transfer to other countries. He will then offer you a share of the funds by helping him. Another example is an alleged rich person seriously ill and needs someone to help in managing the funds for charity purposes. The huge amount of money involved usually attracts unsuspecting victims to believe the scam.

Similar to other e-mail scams, the criminal would then request for money to be utilized for processing the transfer of funds to the victim’s account. Some scammers even request their prospect victim to travel abroad to speed up the transfer of funds but the victims will then be abducted and would only be released after paying a large amount of money.

You’ll be living 2x richer than William Gates.

Free online advertising can be a good way to get started with your online business. The cost involved in getting your business to the place that you desire may hinder or even discourage you from moving forward with your goals. The most important thing about starting an online business is that you take action and do something to get moving in the right direction.

The Chinese philosopher Laozi is credited with the famous quote, “a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first steps.” Starting an online business may seem like a journey of a thousand miles in the beginning. One of the first steps that you may need to take to get the word out about your business and gain your first customers is using free advertising.

There are many free advertising methods available such as article writing, link exchanges, blogging and video marketing just to name a few. The methods that you select may depend upon the nature of your business and type of products that you offer.

Sometimes free advertising is thought of as ineffective and a waste of time. That’s not necessarily the case; getting good results from free advertising depends on starting with the right methods for your market.

You should select an advertising method that already attracts your target market. For instance, if you offer physical products, you may want to promote your business on ebay. If your audience is composed of a lot of book readers you may want to market your business on Amazon. Did you know that you can advertise on both of these mega sites for free? You should look for free advertising opportunities in the natural habit of your desired customers.

Once you’ve found an effective method of free advertising that works for your business you may even want to continue to use it even after you’re able to invest in paid advertising. Many successful business owners still use free methods that they’ve tested over several years and have gotten good results from. There’s no sense in deserting something that works.

The truth is you’ll never know what works until you try. Free advertising may be just what you need to jumpstart your online business.

Working from home is something that many people dream about. There is nothing better than doing the job from the comfort of their own home according to self made schedule, not having commute to work and spending endless hours in the office doing the tasks given by boss. However the question that sticks in minds of many people is: if there really is a decent home business opportunity that will help the dream come true or it’s all to good to be true and it will rather drive people nowhere fast. So before you get into home based business you have to learn a few important facts.

First you must consider negative things. You must know that there are loads of home business scams that rather want to rip you off than help you build your business. These scams have spread like disease over the web in thanks to the Internet and possibilities it brings. The first bad signs you should notice are money requested up front from you. Many companies will try to sell you a list of the best business opportunities. Beware, there is no need to pay anyone for the information you can dig into yourself.

Some companies will want you to pay start up fee to join their business, some of them will offer you big and quick money potential at minimum effort or whatsoever, but finally once you pay for your membership you realize that this is another worthless pyramid scheme that will take ages to make any money for you or will dump you together with the money you put into it. Such opportunities that claim huge and easy money for everyone no matter what level of skills and experience anyone has, are the ones that you should avoid, because building a business isn’t easy thing that can be done without the knowledge, education and skills. If all of that what is offered and promised to you by those scams was true then almost everyone today would be working from home and making good money. So don’t be naive, opportunities like that are just a waste of your time, your money and your effort.

That’s it about bad news.

The good news is that there are also business opportunities out there that really work. If you have some skills in particular area, some companies may hire you to work from home for them. Also there are other business opportunities available online, such us online surveys. There are loads of companies that will be glad to invite you to take surveys about their products, so that you will be paid per survey completed as the company finds your opinion very helpful in improving the product. Also there are many companies looking for the home article writers. If you have some writing skills you could create the content for them in the form of articles and get paid decent money for every article written. Also you can come up with your own business ideas and look around how you can put them to work and make money out of them.

Home bases business can work. It’s all about finding a right opportunity, avoiding scams and persistent work.

Blog owner who spend lot of time each day on internet have great chance to generate online earning up to thousands dollars per month. I have joined some of them now with quite enough monthly average earning.

Millions people create their own blog and make posts, but only few of them utilize it as online cash machine generator. Actually, bloggers write posts without any special commercial purposes unless share their thoughts and knowledge, as hobbies funnel, diary substitution, figure their personal opinion out, or as information storage.

At the first era, blog appears for those particular purposes, it is not used as cash machine generator (now as profession). Along with lately information technology development and internet advertising change blog to be advertisement media which is need to be brought into play, even could competes with the old media like magazine and newspaper. In US, Google has defeated other news media for advertising traction.

As my personal analyzes, the biggest online earning generator is Adsense by Google, and Publisher by Yahoo!, the rest only few others. For years, millions dollars are got by Google and Yahoo! from their advertisers, half of those money are shared to their partners as commission for advertisement installation on partner’s blogs. Thousands blogs are created everyday, and there is no brand new newsletter or magazines are created in a month conversely, this phenomenon (enormous new weblog) is targeted by Google, AdBrite, Yahoo!, Text Link Ads, etc to spread out their ads.

There are many product options offered to blogger, people who always work in front of computer and has internet connection must know it, usually in text ads or banner ads. Blog owner just have to be their member, it is for free, and when it is approved, blogger just need to copy and paste the special code that is given to view the ads onto the blog pages. Afterwards, just to wait cash are flow into personal bank account - it depends on how many visitors are clicked those ads.

Noteworthy, Adsense couldn’t be installed onto Wordpress.com; then you have to create a blog on your own hosting in order to install ads from third party to get commission. Hosting plan is diversify in its costs, cheap and expensive depends on your needs and strategy. When you are still intent to install Adsense by using Wordpress software, you have to make your own hosting plan.

September 23rd, 2008Internet Communication Etiquette

As we all know e-mail has become our most effective way of communication. Lets look at how we have evolved our communication process and what affect it has on your business.

Caveman Communication

When people lived in caves their communication might not have consisted of much more than grunts, gestures and facial expressions, but they had to have some ways of expressing such messages as: “I’m not intending to beat you, and I hope you feel the same” or “You take that side of the mammoth and I’ll take this side and let’s hope we get him before he gets us.” Today’s interrelations are more complex, and so are the messages, but the co-existence remains. Communication and interpersonal relations are in fact entwined.

There are many types of communications, the two most common are tough and smell. Neither do we have in our email communications.

Nonverbal Communication Speaks Volumes

Let’s take a look at cultural and nonverbal communication and why the interpretation of non-verbal messages is influenced by culture and is especially important in business.

A few examples:

Tom leaves his home at 8:30 am and stops at the local Starbucks for coffee. Before he can speak, the counter person says, “The usual?” Tom nods yes. While he savors his coffee and reads the paper, a heavy man pushes onto the adjoining stool and overflows his space. Tom grimaces and the man pulls himself in as much as he can. Tom has sent two messages without speaking a word.

One, the man has invaded his space, and secondly maybe Tom has an issue with his size. Whether Tom really has an issue with his size doesn’t matter - the two have already been portrayed non-verbally!

Phil is talking to Rich’s wife at a party. Their conversation is entirely trivial, yet Rich observes them suspiciously. Their physical proximity and the movements of their eyes reveal that they are powerfully attracted to each other.

Jose Ybarra and Sir Edmund are at the same party and it is important for them to establish a cordial relationship for business reasons. Each is trying to be warm and friendly, yet they will part with mutual distrust and their business transaction will probably go a muck. Jose, in Latin fashion, moved closer and closer to Sir Edmund as they spoke and this movement was misinterpreted as pushiness to Sir Edmund, who kept backing away from this intimacy. Backing away then communicated to Jose coldness. The silent languages of Latin & English cultures are more difficult to learn.

In these examples you see powerful messages communicated with out words. Non-verbal communication is communication with out words. You can communicate non-verbally when you gesture, smile, frown, widen your eyes, move your chair closer to someone or say nothing. These non-verbal messages interact with verbal messages, thus creating confusion. Analyze your own non-verbal communication patterns.

Now that we understand how important non-verbal communication can be lets look at how detrimental it could be to stereotype a person, company or product.

“Stereotypes pose especially powerful barriers in intercultural communication. The reason is simple: Our stereotypes of groups to which we do not belong, for example, race, national or religious groups, gender are likely to be more inaccurate and negative than the stereotypes of the groups to which we ourselves belong.” (Gudykunst, 1991, Bridging Differences: Effective Intergroup Communication.)

This ALL changes DRASTICALLY when utilizing the Internet. In using websites & e-mail addresses you have no verbal or non-verbal communication, what you have is written. You have no signs of sex, age, race, or religion this does eliminate most areas of stereotyping.

However, make no mistake you are communicating non-verbal, non-written messages in your e-mail. You must learn how to communicate properly, how to express emotions non-verbally.

The use of the Internet is a huge resource for marketing and communicating in many industries as well as the mortgage industry. It can limit some risk of miscommunication. In using e-mail it gives the sender the opportunity to correct and rewrite any portion of the message that may not be communicated well. It also gives you the disguise as to whether male or female is the sender, your age is unknown. If you should have a physical disability it is unknown, the email as well as a website are judged by looks and content. It is a virtual hidden identity thus creating a level playing marketing field for almost everyone.

This is why it is so important to capture your market with your website’s appearance and content immediately. IT IS YOU! It may all anyone ever sees or knows about you. You have 10 seconds or less to make your best First impression! Make it count. This is especially true of websites. You must snarl them kin and hold their attention or they will surf on by you…

In writing e-mails, it is also important to create the best first impression. Turn on your spell check and grammar: don’t send imperfect email. We all make mistakes in typing but the Internet allows us to appear flawless with the tools we have access to.

I will share a story with you. I was dealing with some clients on a residential loan. We had some serious issues relating to their current job status. The Realtor I was working with didn’t care what the issues were I had, even though they were legitimately red flags and serious problems. All she saw in her eyes was her commission check going down the tubes…well in my haste of writing emails back and forth to the account rep and the attorney who by the way was related to the attorney…I inadvertently sent an email that I thought was going to the account rep and I said, This Realtor is nuts! She doesn’t care…. And I sent it to the attorney by mistake…needless to say she was not very happy with me and pointed out how it was an “Unprofessional thing to do, I agreed whole heartedly, and ate crow…” and in the end she (the attorney) let up a bit, knowing how strong armed she could be … However with the click of the mouse we can do a lot of damage. So I said this story only to point out to be careful especially in the heat of an issue when emails are flying back and forth!

Let’s talk about the salutation line. This is where you need to capture your prospects attention or inform whom ever you writing to what your message is about…. No tricks, honesty… It may determine is someone opens, reads or deletes your message. Be straightforward, short and intriguing. Wow, all that in a few words. Communication skills are a must in today’s market.

It is conquering the art of persuasion, mystique, and honesty all through written communication. Make no mistake non-verbal communication is at play! The way you present your message, your punctuation, your language usage will all play a huge factor in how your message is interpreted. Look at the following examples:

In communicating:

Confidence: well thought out, concise and well written. “My friend just showed me a new product, that I loved. It really works great.

Fear: hee-haw around, indirect, lacking self-confidence. “My friend introduced me to a product, I’m not sure if I liked it, or if it’s for me.

Excitement: Bold print, punctuation, and exclamation marks. “My friend just showed me a new product, that I LOVED! It really works terrific!

Anger/Indifference: Short, snippy lines could display indifference; bold letters could give the appearance of anger depending on usage. “MY FRIEND SHOWED ME A NEW PRODUCT, I tried it, it was REALLY, REALLY HORRIBLE!

When penning our email messages whether to a friend or a business colleague proper communication etiquette is always important. Take the time to review your message and make sure you are sending the correct impression as well as message.

Finding a legitimate online business is very hard. There are so many programs out there. They all claim to show you how to make a passive income fast and easy. It is almost impossible to know what works and what doesn’t.

So lets talk about some of the scams out there. Some of them get labeled as a scam, just because someone didn’t want to put in the effort to be successful. Some of these programs really will work, if you have the time to put in and a little bit of spending money. Yes it is true, to make any money, someone has to see what you have, and want it. Many programs are misleading - saying that you don’t need to invest any money to make money. This leads to many people giving up, and going on to try something else.

So how do you know which ones are ’scams’? Most of the time you can’t tell until it’s too late. They claim you will make money starting right away, if you follow their system. They may also say that you don’t need to invest any money. They leave out the fact that you have to advertise like crazy, or buy this and that to be successful.

The truth is - to make money online, it will take some time and a little effort. It doesn’t have to be hard. You need to have realistic goals and to honestly give it a try and follow the proven systems. I have included a site that has 3 of the best programs that I have found. They are honest, and most importantly, they work. But if you have to be serious about making it work, and realistic. Don’t wake up tomorrow morning and decide to quit if you haven’t made any money. That is just silly.

Anyway, I wanted to make this available to those that were going through what I had gone through. Don’t give up yet. You can find the programs I have reviewed here - http://www.purpleskiesonline.com

Some of these businesses can cost you nothing, where as others can cost you some money to start. Just remember to work your hardest when starting these businesses and in the end you will be rewarded.

When someone asks “What are good AdSense keywords?” they are really asking about the best keywords to optimize their pages with which have AdSense ads on them. Success with AdSense is all about driving traffic to niche websites. The chosen keywords to optimize the site’s pages with will make or break efforts to earn income from Adsense.

Success requires choosing a niche area without too much competition. Yet, the niche must have enough interest to insure there are sufficient numbers of searches. Many people choose niches which are simply too competitive to ever have a chance of being ranked on the first page of search engine results. This is the most common mistake made when creating AdSense sites.

AdSense keywords for a given niche must allow the site owner to rank his or her pages on the first or second pages of Google and/or Yahoo search result pages. The best way to find these AdSense keywords is to brainstorm with the many free keyword tools available online. I have found even the free versions to be of great help for discovering AdSense keywords which can be used to optimize pages with. I particularly like the Google keyword tool. Simply do a search for “keyword tool” in Google and it is usually the first result.

When you find possible keywords, they should be checked in a Google search with quotes around them. Notice the number of total sites with that keyword in the content. For example, if there are 500,000 other sites with that keyword, it is probably too competitive of term for you to ever get traction with. On the other hand, if the AdSense keyword shows only 5,000 other sites, it can be very easy to rank well in the search engines.

Google AdSense checks pay my mortgage each month!

When simple Internet marketing principles are applied to niche websites, the results can be a nice Google check in the mail each month! Learn more at : http://www.AdsenseConnection.com

You’ve seen advertisements coming through your email box, or even on TV that tell you how you can get a free laptop computer just for visiting a website and completing a few sponsor offers and referring a few of your friends to do the same. This type of website is known as an incentivized freebie website of IFW for short and is a form of marketing that has grown rapidly in recent years.

IFWs can afford to give away gifts like laptops, desktops, big screen tvs and more because advertisers pay them per lead they send to them. That is, the IFW gets paid by each advertiser for every offer completed on that site.

For the advertiser, placing their offer on an incentive based site allows them to generate leads for their products quite cheaply as compared to other media.

You can profit from IFWs in three main ways:

Method 1: You can get paid for completing the offer requirements for others, also known as “going green.” Why would anyone want to pay you to do that, you ask? Considering that some prizes require upwards of 10 referrals, rather than bothering friends and family, it is much easier and quicker to pay strangers to do it. There are other reasons related to the second way to money from IFWs which I will tell you about shortly.

Using this method, you can earn anywhere from $20 to $100 per site, depending on the offer requirements and the value of the site. Typically, the more difficult a site is to complete, the more you will be paid. You will typically receive your money through Paypal.

Method 2. This way involves getting paid from the IFWs directly and is a little more complicated. IFWs also offer cash prizes as well as items like laptops etc. IFWs will pay you for each referral that you send to them who completes the offer requirements. How much depends on how difficult the site is to complete. You can get paid anywhere from $20 to $200 per completed referral.

You can get referrals by asking friends and family to help out, but if you are going to make a living doing this, you will have to pay people. Remember method 1, where you were getting paid to be someone’s referral? Well, now you are on the opposite side of that transaction. How much will you have to pay? People will usually pay someone half of what the site pays them. So if a site is worth $40 per referral, you would offer to pay someone $20 be your referral and complete the requirements.

Because most IFWs allow you to refer an unlimited amount of people and collect an unlimited amount of gifts, you can see that you can make a tidy profit by continuing to refer people to even a single IFW over and over again.

Method 3: This method is the most complicated and is not commonly used. It involves taking the prizes received from IFWs like ipods, laptops, big screen tvs etc and selling them on Ebay. Most people do not bother with this method and stick with the first two.

Most people get involved in freebies by using the first method; that is getting paid for completing offers (going green) and then from there transition to the second method by taking those sites which they completed and start referring people of their own to them.

There are some things to be aware of when using this method to make money. One is you must be very organized and read all of the terms and conditions of each offer for which you sign up. That way, there won’t be any surprises, and if you decide that the service or product is not for you, you can cancel before the trial period is over to avoid unwanted charges on your credit card. Another is, because the advertisers are looking for leads that turn into paying customers, you should only take offers for which you have some interest and along with that, you should not cancel the trial too soon. If you must cancel, you should do so during the final days of the trial.

Freebie traders, as we call ourselves, usually congregate on various trading forums on the Internet that specialize in everything freebie related. These forums allow traders to post what sites they are offering and how much they are paying for a “green” or a completed referral on each. Most forums also have a rating system similar to eBay’s where users can leave feedback on their experience with each trader with whom they deal.

In closing, freebie trading is an excellent way for people to generate an online income and unlike other methods, it requires very little capital or technical know-how.
